Teleflex, a global leader in medical technologies, commissioned the construction of a state-of-the-art international headquarters in Athlone. This three-storey, 4,162m² facility exemplifies modern design and functionality, featuring Grade A office finishes and a sleek, curved façade.
**Project Highlights:**
– **Building Structure:** Structural steel enclosure for the roof-level plant room, with infill blockwork, rainscreen cladding, and Tegral sheeting.
– **Envelope & Façade:** AMS toggle-glazed curtain wall system with spandrel panels, integrated brise soleil solar shading, and Pilkington solar control glazing. Ground-floor cladding used Tegral Shadowline, with a feature entrance completed in Portuguese limestone.
– **Interior Fit-Out:** Open-plan office spaces with raised access floors, bespoke kitchens with islands, tea stations, and cellular offices with acoustic partitions. Meeting rooms featured folding/demountable walls and glazed screens.
– **M&E Specifications:** Cat B office-grade mechanical and electrical works, including two passenger lifts for seamless accessibility across all floors.
– **External Works:** Included foul and storm drainage systems, rainwater harvesting and attenuation tanks, generator enclosures, and a chemical storage compound. Landscaping features included kerbing, paving, street furniture, public lighting, and soft and hard landscaping.
This flagship facility provides Teleflex with enhanced visibility, stability, and a modern work environment for their growing workforce of 260 employees, with capacity for 350+. Since its completion, the headquarters has hosted several European and global meetings, earning positive feedback and international recognition within the group.
